I went to AAMCO on Hickory AVE thinking I needed a new transmission. My car would slip when shifting. All I had was a transmission fluid leak in my 2003 Mustang. The low fluid made the transmission shift incorrectly. The guys at Don, the manager, had his guys fix the Leak ,add transmission fluid, and I was on the road in less than a hour. What great service. Thanks again Don!!Was this review helpful?

I heard a grinding noise in the front of my car when I applied the brakes. My best friend recommended that I see Paul at AAMCO near Lasalle Park. I went in yesterday morning and had the guys at AAMCO look at my 2001 Toyota Camry. After Pauls guys looked at my car, he explained that I needed front brakes and I needed my front rotors resurfaced. I agreed to his price of $169 . My car was fixed for the agreed upon price and by the end of the business day. Great Guys!! I highly recommend these guys. Was this review helpful?

Brakes - I called for a price on brakes which Don provided via the phone. He did what he said, for the price he said. They also found that I had a leaking brake line. I was in meetings all day while my car was being fixed. Since they were unable to contact me, they went ahead and fixed the brake line for no additional charge!!Was this review helpful?

I was driving my car yesterday to LeSalle Park to go walking when I noticed my oil light came. I don't know a lot about cars but my Dad always said that light could be serious. I noticed across the parking lot was an AAMCO Transmission shop. Since it was so close I decided to give them a try. I spoke to Bobby the manager and he got his guys immediately on my 1993 Cadillac. Bobby came an explaied that I was pver 2 quarts of oil low and I was very lucky not to mess up the motor. He recommended either put 2 quarts of oil or just get an oil change. It was time for an oil change any way so I requested the oil change and I went for my walk. When I returned, the oil change was done and the oil light was off. I was very impressed with the service, especially because Bobby did not try and upsell me on anything else (its a 1993, I have all kinds of works that needs to be done). I think I have found me a new mechanic shop. I rate these this shop as Awesome!!Was this review helpful?

I came into the AAMCO for a second opinion because my Expedition was not shifting into all gears. I went into another national chain for a diagnosis. After a 15 min computer check, they stated my transmission needed to be replaced. I did not feel very comfortable about the diagnosis, so I wanted a second opinion, so I went to AAMCO on Hickory/David Dr in Metairie. The diagnosis was suppose to take an hour but it took more that 3 hours. The explanation for the lengthy diagnosis was the type of problem (the manager stated) discovered. My Expedition transmission (225332 miles) was fine. The problem was a wire that was bad. Instead of an expensive transmission repair I spent $165 for a wire repair. WOW. I went in to AAMCO trying to compare transmission (over $1000) and came out knowing who a thorough mechanic. It took longer than expected but well worth the time and money. Was this review helpful?
