One of our favorite hotels My husband and I stayed at the Encore last year in October and liked it so much that we celebrated his sister's 60th birthday there on March 25th&26th, 2010. We were a party of five and booked two adjacent rooms in the tower overlooking the strip. The hotel was completely booked because of the Garth Brooks show. The hotel rooms are like mini-suites and very spacious. The decor in the entire hotel is breathtaking. No espense has been spared. The service is outstanding and the food in every restaurant is superb. Our favorite is the Sinatra restaurant. The granite counter at the bar is worth a trip. Do not miss to have at least a drink at the bar.

There were many good things about this hotel (great beds and linens, quiet room, nice layout and d├ęcor, lovely pools, views), but a 5-star hotel should be nearly perfect. First of all, the housekeeping should be flawless. Grand expanses of glass and mirrors are impressive, but only if they're clean. There was a grease spot on the mirror behind the couch where someone had leaned his head against the mirror: it was there when we arrived and still there when we left three days later. Not one housekeeper had noticed it. Elsewhere, glass and mirrors were smudged and dirty, and the shower was not thoroughly clean. What really galled me was the hotel's policy about bringing in items from outside. Right by the elevator was posted a sign prohibiting in the rooms food and beverages that had been purchased outside the hotel, and saying that packages were subject to inspection. How ridiculous to be paying hundreds of dollars to stay in a top-rated hotel and be forced to sneak around to bring a bottle of wine into the room. We happened to see a wine in the sundry shop that we know to be $18; their price was $58! Policies aimed at coercing guests to buy inflated goods and services do not reflect well on an establishment. Our party ate twice (a total of six meals) in Encore restaurants, and only one dish was better than mediocre. One server had a negative and unhelpful attitude. I asked three times for cream, and it finally came long after my coffee had grown cold. In contrast, we had a spectacular meal at the Paris Eiffel Tower. Our every need was anticipated and met without delay, the food was extraordinary, and the setting was lovely. Next time we vacation in Las Vegas, we'll be staying at the Paris.

Glad we stayed here. It was my first trip to Vegas and after seeing the others, I was pleased to note that the Wynn was the best in the contemporary style hotels there. XS is a great club within and staying there gets you in easy.

great hotel but no electrical outlets near bed so, this hotel is beautiful--tasteful, elegant, even slightly understated (for Vegas) But they forgot to put electrical outlets near the bed--so you can't talk on you cell phone when it is being charged, and you sure can't use your computer...the worst part was that the manager was rude about it--she told me to work at the desk like everyone else--i have not stayed at a hotel constructed in the last ten years that does not have electrical outlets near the bed--they can't even plug in both lamps and the alarm clock at the same time...
