Location, location, location. LA is amazing, and it's even better if you can do it by foot. Hotel Del Flores is in an amazing area. It has a bounty of great restaurants and shops nearby (and a Whole Foods if you're looking to save money). Second, the hotel, while spartan, is actually quite comfortable and charming. My double bed is clean, the air conditioning works like a dream and there is plenty of hot water and clean towels. There is an amazing patio where you can see the Beverly Hills City Hall ( a GORGEOUS building) and a sitting room in the lobby with a piano, some sofas and chairs and lamps for reading and mingling. There is also free wifi of an acceptably good speed, a common fridge on the main floor and the rooms offer sufficient space for anything you need to do. So really, this hotel is not for everyone. If you're a family, go to a commercial inn. If you're someone who's traveling for work, this may not be for you. If you're a student (as I am) on a student near-zero budget (again, as I am), this hotel couldn't be better. There are plenty of ways of getting here from LAX and plenty of places to go on foot and by bus when you're here. Cabs will eat up a ton of money, so save yourself a lot of hassle and choose a good location that will compel you to go out and explore and then get you rested up to do it again. Was this review helpful?
