When I saw the star rating of this hotel, i was astounded as this is one of the best in the world. However, after looking through the reviews its obvious the same crazed person kept leaving a one star rating over and over again. This hotel is immaculate! Was this review helpful?

It's a hip hotel. I really enjoy the bar and the restaurant. It's Asian Fusion. I stay here quite a bit when I'm in the city. Was this review helpful?

Not friendy to New Yorkers Went for anniversary dinner. All aspects of service, including seating depends on whether you are a guest of the hotel. When asked for rm number, we responded that we live in neighborhood we were told we had to wait for hotel guests who get first choice for dining and drinks. (We were dressed to the 9's) Important to note that only 1/4 of tables had diners. Not friendly to NATIVE NEW YORKERS. Shame on them!!!!!Was this review helpful?

I stayed at the Mandarin as a guest of the Norman Mailer Center as a writing award recipient, and, as a lower middle class public school teacher, I have not been treated with such tender care since I was in the hospital with double pneumonia in the second grade. People who complain about $15 internet fees when they can afford to stay in five star hotels sound just a wee bit spoiled, and, clearly, are accustomed to a lifestyle that most humans on this planet never experience. I loved the Mandarin, felt somewhat guilty about eating complimentary chocolates and wearing a Turkish cotton bathrobe while looking out on Central Park from the remarkably comfortable suite on the fortieth floor, and found the people who worked there to be the most professionally gracious people I have ever met. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, but, even more, I would recommend to the malcontents who indulge in complaining that they try to see the world from a different window occasionally than the one with the entitled view. Was this review helpful?
