There have been intrepid souls living in this area for decades. Phoenix Red Brick. Coved ceilings. Truly a vintage pueblo home. Now home to wonderful breakfast. This isn't a diner this is Matts front room..What a great place for all that live downtown to go to. I think I first ate here at least three years ago. Nothing has changed...My meals are top top. Love little restaurants. Was this review helpful?

Came in from Toronto last night and was looking for a nice sunday bkfst. Went to Matt's. Totally worth the wait. The rosemary homefries, excellent coffee and service with a smile makes this place a ten in my book!!Was this review helpful?

Breakfast We learned of Matt's in our local newspaper, and since we were coming to Phoenix for the Rock 'n Roll marathon, we thought we'd give it a try on Saturday, January 17. Yes, we had to wait 45 minutes for a table as one review alerted us. Overall it was a pleasant experience. The service was good and the food tasty; however, we were disappointed in the portion size. My wife's waffle was the size of a medium pancake and my big breakfast was mostly hash browns. So, in our view the big breakfast was not all that big, and as far as prices, for what you got, we felt it was expensive. Our breakfast tab with tip came to $30. We are glad we went, and would recommend others try it. But, if you are going for an inexpensive, big breakfast for get it.Was this review helpful?

My favorite breakfast spot in The Valley. Some co-workers and have become regulars and love the mom n' pop atmosphere. Rather quaint, no frills just simple and amazing food. The iced tea has always been fresh and have never left disappointed. There is a long wait on weekends unless you're there when the door opens. Overall just a nice spot to get a great breakfast. Was this review helpful?

Great Food, Friendly Atmosphere! Saw Guy Fieri's show and printed information on Matt's for our next trip to Phoenix. Finally got the chance last weekend. Ended up there for lunch as our time was cut short, but the food was great, the atmosphere was friendly and we'd recommend it to anyone visiting! Had a wonderful visit with Erenia (one of the owners) - very pleasant indeed! The only downside was the lovely girl clearing the tables - not in the best of moods and no smile came across her face, but that may have been because it was close to closing and she wanted to go home. Might want to consider wearing that little happy face right up until the time the place closes - customers should never see you having a bad day. Thanks!
