I haven't tried something at Pete' s that I didn't like. But there are five things you HAVE to try: 1. Bleu cheese french fries. We got these almost EVERY time we went. 2. Sunday morning for breakfast. Order the fruit and granola. 3. Second best burger downtown. GET IT. It is SOOOO good. 4. The macaroni and cheese. 5 types of cheese, and perfect cheesy layer on top, covering creamy one-of-a-kind mac. 5. The grilled cheese! OMG.Was this review helpful?

Excellent Second time there, the 1st time Tomatoe Basil Cream Soup was delicious. 2nd time was extremely salty, I could not eat it. Too bad I took it to go. :( Besides that, a nice place to eat.Was this review helpful?

The atmosphere looked nice and relaxing, the food look good to the patrons that were getting served. Guiness on tap was a plus. I sat at a high top for about 15 minutes and servers and bussers walked right by my empty table. They never greeted the table or even put a glass of water on the table. I'd liked to stay positive and say I'll try them one day, but for now I just want to flick all them in the forehead. Was this review helpful?

Pete's is likely my favorite restaurant in Downtown LA. I love their location (ground floor of the historic San Fernando building). I love their decor and atmosphere and I certainly love their food. Their hellman burger w/ sweet potato fries is likely one of my most often eaten meals. I can't really explain how much I enjoy the atmosphere here. While the rest of they city rages on the craziest party nights pete's always manages to keep a lower key classy vibe. So when the DTLA scene is raging out of control you can almost always find me hanging out here. Food is great across the board however some of their full dinner courses are a little costlier. However I don't think I have ever walked away from a meal thinking I paid more then I should have. Beer prices also appear to have headed north (although I feel like drinks throughout downtown seem to get more expensive by the month). If there's one gripe I can make with Pete's it's the consistency of the service. All the waiters and generally upbeat and having a good time. However food can take quite a while to come out and their continued attentiveness to the tables could be a lot better. Don't be surprised if you need to ask for something like water more then once especially during the busier hours of the night. Was this review helpful?

OMG This place is scrumptious. The bartender Jason was very friendly, made us feel like family. The staff was very attentive, our waitress Brittany was very sweet, and the ambience warm. The food is orgasmic. We had the bacon cheese fries, the goat cheese tart with no onions, the mushroom risotto with ribs, and for my birthday they gave us the bread pudding which was to die for. We will definitely be coming back, and next time we want to try the burger, and mac and cheese. Was this review helpful?
