I stayed here thanks to an Expedia overbooking mistake at a hotel much more in my budget than this place, but I have to say, WOW. A fully believe this place when it's called 4 1/2 stars. It's beautiful inside, with a professional (Though, I agree, somewhat impersonal, but undoubtedly professional) staff. The room was beyond comfortable - the bed, amazing. The location is great - a stones throw from Rockefeller Center, a short walk to the M, E, and 6 trains, and not an unreasonable walk for someone in fair shape to Times Square. (Felt like a very safe walk too, even at 1am). Despite being a large, tall building, the elevators were very quick, with wait times minimal. My only complaints were the lighting controllers on the walls - annoying to use and difficult to read which button did what. I'd prefer just plain switches. Also, the internet charge is ridiculous - a hotel (of any price really, but especially this price point) should provide free WiFi access, not try and charge another $10-15 a day. Sure, put a password on it for the guests to keep out the rouges. But it should be free for all guests. The room service & mini bar prices are insanely expensive, but, that's par for the course at hotels I suppose. Didn't bother me, there's a lot of good places nearby at more reasonable New York prices. All and all, however, I have to say again, however, this place is BEAUTIFUL.

Had the pleasure of staying at The Palace for 3 days just during Thanksgiving of 2011 due to the special rate they offered. Our standard room, in the main building, overlooked St. Patrick's Cathedral. It was traditional, yes, but updated spacious and comfortable. I was delighted and would recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.

Creme de la Creme of NYC Hotels (or hotels pretty much anywhere) I have traveled throughout the U.S.A. on business and Internationally for vacation... frequenting NYC often. The service and accommodations of this NY Palace hotel are 2nd to none, therefore I have stayed at this hotel on every NY trip for the last 2 years and will not stay anywhere else unless they are booked. I never thought to write a review, but my visit last week on our family vacation for Spring Break was so over the top I had to write. Amazing service by the Palace's employee named Papa who brought my children plush kid-sized robes upon checkin and again by Tony in the hotel's security who retrieved my purse that I left locked in the room-safe after I checked out! If you want an experience in NY with an amazing location on 5th and Madison, great views with HUGE windows overlooking St. Patrick's Cathedral, huge rooms (esp for NY), amazingly comfortable beds/pillows/comforters, granite bathrooms with amazing showers and room service 2x/day... then this hotel will fulfill your experience in NY. I can't say enough about the luxury of this hotel. I wish they were in every city I visited. It's a treat to stay there!

My daughter and I stayed here the week before Thanksgiving and it was wonderful! David the concierge was great he knew where to go shopping for Vintage and antique shops. Our room was comfortable the price was right but without David we would not have been able to see all we came for. The service was wonderful! I will stay here again.

Fabulous in Every Way!!! I stayed at the New York Palace Hotel for 2 nights, and this hotel is superb! From the moment I stepped out of the cab and the doorman greeted me to my experience with the staff during check-in, this hotel exuded class and provided the utmost customer service. Everyone from the bellhop to the housekeepers were pleasant and provided warm greetings throughout the day. I loved their bed turndown service with the added sweet treat on the pillow. The rooms were ample and very clean. I loved it! They even offered clothes for their wonderful fitness center-- in case you forgot to bring your own. They even want you to be fit! This hotel is fabulous in every way! It is now my go-to-hotel when I come to NYC and I will definetly tell everyone I know. Team NY Palace Hotel!
