Great Mechanics, Friendly Staff, Another Happy Customer My Bimmer was due for a scheduled big Service. I was looking for a good and honest independent repair shop in San Diego. The Pit Stop on Clairmont Mesa Blvd off of 805 was recommended to me by a friend and I gave it a shot. While I normally don't write those type of reviews, I don't mind sharing my experience here. Besides the scheduled maintenance, and inspection at 100K miles, I also had my front breaks (rotors and pads) replaced since my indicator light just came on. Justin, the service manager (BTW: a good looking, kind gentleman), paid attention to my specific needs, and set up an appointment that was convenient for me. I also told the manager about an unusual noise coming from the wheels that was getting worse in recent weeks. The shop was well prepared, as I showed up for my appointment last Saturday. The mechanics started right away, while I was waiting in their stylish new customer waiting area. Free WiFi, computers for internet access, what more could you ask for. I was kept up to date on the progress of the service and the repairs throughout. I was very pleased that all fixes were going as discussed before. They also identified the bushings on my front control arms as the source of the noise and uneven tire wear. Bimmer's apparently are notorious for this, and I was impressed with the expertise of the mechanics at an independent shop. When all was set and done, I had my scheduled maintenance (oil & filter, spark plugs, serpentine belt changed), the break job and the bushing replaced. All of that in 4 hours. I was satisfied with with all the work that was done, extremely happy about the price I paid, and the total time it took. I will enjoy my Bimmer for miles to come and certainly return for any future service and repair issues on my vehicle. Those guys are great! Was this review helpful?

So Honest So Nice !!!! I have always been reserved when taking my car to an auto repair shop. Mechanics have always taken advantage of me and the dealer isn't any better with their prices. I was referred to the pit stop by a friend that has recently serviced her car there. I was open to the idea, being a women you always run into people at auto mechanic places that will take advantage of you. Justin was very nice he explained everything to me and helped me to understand the problem with my car even though I have absolutly no mechanical knowledge. The prices were very good and the service was outstanding. The waiting area was a breath of fresh air. Many TVs to keep you entertained a customer computer to use while your waiting and lovely couches to sit on. I really loved my experiance here at the pit stop and I will tell all you ladies out there that are worried about taking their car to a random mechanic to come and see Justin at The Pit Stop. Was this review helpful?

hard my issue...lifetime customer now! I used to get my car service religiously at Hamni Auto in Miramar before they closed shop...I loved them :-( Since then my Previa had a shaking problem that NO ONE could solve. (I refuse to take my car to the dealer because one time I found out they didn't even change my oil filter when doing an oil change, but that's another story!) long story short, I left my car here for a few days. John (?) thorough checked it and they called me back with the news. They had a hunch it was something, I don't remember, they went ahead and replaced the part since it was only $20 and that fixed the issue!! When I got that call I was ecstatic!!! I LOVE YOU JOHN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A+++++Was this review helpful?

One of the best automotive repair shops in San Diego – plain and simple Wanted to figure out the source of my 'Check Engine' light, that came on last week on my 4Runner. I was due for new oil & filter anyway and heard about the Pit Stop. Justin answered my phone call and got me in the next day. I only had a couple of hours and I was happy they made an effort to accommodate my busy schedule so quickly. Once there, I dropped my keys, got a coffee and was working my job remotely using their free Wi-Fi. Nobody at work even noticed I had to get my car fixed. The oil was changed rather quickly, and the warning light turned out to be the oxygen sensor. BTW reading the error code of the engine management computer was free of charge. They got a new sensor and cable right away, and before I knew it, the car was ready. I was pleasantly surprised with the super fast service received at the Pit Stop. The mechanics pay attention, and the price I paid was very reasonable. I am even going so far to recommend this place. If you are not the fix it all yourself guy, but don't want to pay manufacturers rates for your typical maintenance issues. This is the place to go. Posted by 'ToyotaMan'Was this review helpful?

Sooo worth my 25 minute drive up to the Pit Stop I was tired of dealing with sleazy mechanics taking advantage of my non existent mechanical background. I received a quote from the Dealer for a $700 tuneup. After questioning the dealer mechanic for 10 minutes I found that the $700 charge was for a spark plug change and diagnostics. I was recommended the Pit Stop and will never take my car elsewhere. They were so helpful explained all the labor and cost, there was no need for me to interrogate as I had to with the dealership mechanic. I ended up spending much less for much more than a spark plug change. I was EXTREMELY satisfied and will recommend them to everyone. Was this review helpful?
