I drive 70+ miles one-way getting to West Houston VW because of your excellent service and customer care. Overall, my VW ownership experience is truly pleasurable because of your remarkable dealership. Chris, thank you for your on-target help and followup advice. And Nikki remembered me from April 2011. VW is a super car. West Houston VW dealership is super too.

Nice, clean, shiny, but lazy. Keep your paperwork! I've had several VW's in different parts of the US and settled on West Houston VW when I moved to Houston for servicing my GLI based on the recommendation of several VW owning friends. While they perform service according to spec they do tend to cut corners. I guess with the popularity of the VW brand these days there is not a huge incentive to go the extra mile when it comes to the actual work a customer brings their car in for. The service dept, loaner cars and general politeness are better than most dealers Ive visited, but I'm there to get my car fixed and frankly Ive been disappointed on that front. Especially for the ++$$ VW charges for anything to do with their cars. Being a car-nut I know quite a bit about my GLI and its innards and have to say it has not been the most reliable of vehicles, although its a fun machine to drive. I've had to check and top off oil after a change, I received a recall letter from VW to take my car in for a coil-pack replacement. WHVW said no, your car isnt part of that recall. Next thing I know I'm in for engine problems that I am partially on the hook for that partially track back to that faulty part and suddenly its oh, yes that is recalled. They were very helpful at that point and replaced it but the damage was done. Additionally I'd taken my car in for the check engine light going on and off and was told my fuel cap was loose (I am not that stupid). A few months later it went solid and resulted in $2000.00 + fuel system repairs that were mostly covered under drivetrain warranty. The hundreds of dollars that were not covered (I'd taken it in under full warranty which had then expired for the second visit where they found the problems) were exhaustively argued over. Of course there was no record of my visit but luckily I'd kept my copy and they covered the cost. I do give them credit for doing the right thing. Another issue - my radiator fans died while under warranty. I took it in and one was replaced, I then reported abnormalities in the second fan on the next service appointment and was told it was normal for Houston's hot climate. Well, funnily enough as soon as it was out of warranty the story is its dead, do you want us to replace it? Of course no record of me bringing it in was available when I pointed out I'd diligently reported the malfunction under warranty previously. I didnt have proof of that visit so I was out of luck. They did offer me 10% off but I ordered the part myself to replace at home on principal. I don't take kindly to being fleeced. As a (paying) VW enthusiast I went in to talk about buying another VW for my wife on another occasion. The lackluster, vague, and tedious pre-sales attempt left me pretty much cured of wanting another VW. West Houston VW is a decent VW dealership compared to others in other states I've visited. I just get the impression in recent years that with the popularity of the brand in general the importance of the customer is seriously diluted. I've also found all four VW's I've driven to be mediocre at best with regards to reliability. Prepare to learn or PAY! They break....a LOT. They do look good and are fun to drive and WHVW is as good a place as any to get one. Keep your paperwork and pay attention to whats being done and its not too bad a place to get your VW fixed either.

I was looking for a new compact car, and test drove the new Ford focus hatchback, Mazda 3 hatchback and 2012 VW Golf. We chose which dealerships to visit based on Google reviews and ratings from the Better Business Bureau. We went to the major dealerships in the west end of Houston, and found that West Houston VW was by far the most professional. We received help from Minh Nguyen and Doug Atkins. I liked them because we felt they were honest and professional. They were also knowledgeable and helpful. Everything was clearly explained: the window sticker of the car was clearly visible (unlike some other dealerships), and prices and fees were as described on the VW USA website. What we liked about this dealership in comparison to other dealerships is there were no unclear mark ups, and subsequent special dealers discounts, which made no sense to us. Everything here was drawn out as described on the VW USA website. I highly recommend visiting this dealership and Doug Atkins if you are looking to purchase a new VW.

I will only take my EOS to Nikki in the service department at West Houston VW! She knows who I am when I call, she knows my car and get me in and out quickly. I don't really like having to fill up my car with gas or get the oil changed so taking my car in for service I used to put it off knowing what a hassle it was. But, Nikki makes it so quick and easy it's almost like dropping of clothes at the cleaners! In and out with a new VW loaner car. Thanks Nikki!

Chris has been my service advisor for several years and continues to be great and provides the dealerships' service advisors with stability and reliability. He is the All American Service Advisor, cordial, clean-cut and knowledgeable, the formula that will take him into ever-increasing positions of responsibility in the auto service industry. I brought in my car because the battery was bad. I did not have an appointment but my car was wisked away and then Chris came to me in the lobby and told me that we should go ahead and get a recall item corrected and do the scheduled oil change. Everything was done to perfection and I was on my way in about 90 minutes. Good standard for no appointment. Thanks Chris!
